This Still There Wood bookmark is inspired by a story about a young girl who had cancer. In time the young girl passed away. Within her journals her parents found the phrase “the moon Is still round.” Her parents were puzzled by this at first. They searched through her journals to find an meaning behind it. Finally they found a journal entry that explained it.
The girl saw God in the same way she saw the moon.
The moon is always the same shape. Yet, usually we don’t see its full shape. Only every 29 days does a full moon appear. But, just because we don’t see the full shape of the moon, doesn’t mean that it is not still there. The moon is still round, no matter what part of it we see.
Through her experiences, the young girl came to realize that even though God is not always seen in our lives, it does not mean that He is not there. He is always there, but often we do not have the full picture. He is intricately woven into our lives and yet we often do not see just how much. And while we may not see Him fully, it does not change the fact that He is still there.
This bookmark is a reminder that God is still there. Even when life gets hard, when it seems like the light is not shining through our dark nights, and hope seems scarce, He is still there guiding us, comforting us, and supporting us in ways that we may not see. Let us seek to see Him even when life seems dark. And let us seek to let His light shine through us for others to see.
God is still there.
